Overview:

The anti- wrinkle foundation course is the first choice for many aesthetic professionals starting out. Anti-wrinkle injections are a very effective treatment for the lines and wrinkles caused by muscle activity (dynamic wrinkles). This course will teach students how to assess the face and inject the three most requested treatments in aesthetic medicine. During the course we will review the full range of botulinum toxins available in cosmetic medicine. Theses include Azzalure®, BOCOUTURE® and BOTOX®.

At Aspinall Aesthetics Training Academy, we believe the best way to learn is to have extensive hands-on practical experience for each procedure. We will provide you models to practice on during the course.

You will be required to complete pre study before you attend your course which will be emailed to you alongside your booking confirmation.

On completion, a CPD accredited certificate will be issued.

Please note: You will be assigned a prescriber on completion of this course and full clinical oversight. You will also be provided with on-going support from our network of trainers should it be required.

Areas covered are:

• Forehead (Frontalis)
• Frown Lines (Corrugator and Procerus)
• Crows Feet (Orbicularis Oculi)

•  Blood Borne Pathogens:

• Understanding what blood borne pathogens are and how they can be transmitted.
• Implementing safety measures to minimize risk during aesthetic procedures.

•  Needle Stick Injuries, Sharps Disposal, and Legalities:

• Procedures to follow in the event of a needle stick injury.
• Proper disposal of sharps to maintain clinic hygiene and meet regulatory standards.
• Legal considerations surrounding injectable treatments.

•  Contraindications:

• Identifying medical conditions or factors that prevent treatment.
• Evaluating client suitability for aesthetic procedures to ensure safety.

•  Side Effects:

• Common side effects of dermal fillers and Botulinum Toxin treatments.
• Managing and minimizing risks to improve client outcomes.

•  Client Consultations, Medical History, and Informed Consent:

• Conducting thorough consultations to understand client goals.
• Reviewing medical history to ensure safe practice.
• Obtaining informed consent for all treatments.

•  Facial Analysis and Mapping:

• Techniques for assessing facial proportions and structure.
• Mapping treatment areas for precise and effective results.

•  Injection Techniques:

• Identifying safe injection sites to maximize results and safety.
• Areas to avoid to prevent adverse effects.

•  Neuromuscular Conditions That Predate Treatment:

• Recognizing conditions that may impact the efficacy or safety of Botulinum Toxin.
• Adapting treatments for clients with pre-existing neuromuscular issues.

•  Perfecting the Most Popular ‘Three Areas’ Treatment:

• Techniques for treating glabella (frown lines), forehead lines, and lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet).
• Achieving balanced and natural-looking results.

•  Prescribers, Setting Up Accounts, and Ordering:

• Understanding the role of prescribers in administering Botulinum Toxin.
• Guidance on setting up supplier accounts and ordering products.

•  Aftercare and Follow-Up:

• Providing clients with detailed aftercare instructions to optimize results.
• Handling follow-up consultations and addressing post-treatment concerns.

Duration: Full day 10:00 – 16:00 plus pre-study

Pre-requisites:

• Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology
• NVQ Level 3 Beauty or Equivalent
• Nurse / Dental Nurse, Doctor
• Dentist – or Dental Practitioner with a GDC number
• Pharmacist
• Level 4 Micropigmentation/Microneedling with Level Anatomy and Physiology

Course FAQs

  • Typically, Level 5 can take between 3-9 months to complete and level between 6-12 months to complete.
  • Payments can be made by standing order. Students can make monthly repayments of over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months.
  • Any student who wishes to have their prior learning recognised will need to arrange a 20-minute zoom call with the academy director to assess their Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) on an individual basis.
  • If students do not have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience which demonstrates current and relevant industry knowledge. They will need to complete a minimum of a Level 4 qualification in a related sector.
  • Our academy suggests students complete the Level 4 Certificate in Anatomy & Physiology in Aesthetics Practice
  • Students can enrol on both the level 5 and 7 courses quarterly (January, April, July and October)
  • CPD courses are insurable and will still be available for areas that are not covered in Level 5 or Level 7. CPD is still important as a yearly requirement to keep up to date with knowledge and experience to maintain professional standards. However, CPD is not regulated so standards cannot be guaranteed.
  • Is level 5-7 mandatory training for Aesthetics Practitioners?
  • Not right now, however the government are pushing (and rightly so) for this industry to be regulated. The government want to ensure that fair and quality training for everyone including medical practitioners to be mandatory. This is likely to also include licencing and a mandatory requirement for regulated training from insurers.
  • All Qualifi courses are official regulated qualifications regulated by Ofqual.
